It is with great pleasure and sincere gratitude that the Christmas to Remember Foundation's board members say thank you! Through the generosity of our community, 400 children from Amador and Calaveras counties went on a shopping trip for new, warm winter clothing, just in time for Christmas. Some 300 older students will soon shop with their gift certificates. We thank:

- HomeTown Radio

- Service clubs and their members from both Amador and Calaveras counties who manned donation collection sites

- Countless organizations and individuals who made donations, large and small, even in these uncertain economic times

- Teachers and staff at Amador and Calaveras schools for helping to identify our program participants

- Students from Argonaut, Amador and Calaveras high schools, and community members who assisted the children with their shopping selections

- Management and staff at the Martell Kmart, who had plenty of wonderful clothing items in stock from which the children could choose, and who provided a post-shopping treat of doughnuts and juice. Their support and cooperation was tremendous!

Each member of the Christmas to Remember board realizes the value not only of this program, but of the part that the community plays in making it happen. As one of our members is fond of saying, "Whatever money we raise and however many children we help is providential." That is true. On behalf of all the children wearing new coats and shoes, we simply want to say "thanks." We wish all a warm and merry Christmas and a secure new year.
