Operation Care Survey
Hello!
I hope you are enjoying your summer! Operation Care, www.operationcare.org, is forming a focus group and conducting a survey to help determine our goals and curriculum for primary prevention and education about sexual assault.
I was hoping that you could take about five minutes to answer a few questions and give us your thoughts. We would appeciate your response by July 14th. This survey is confidential and your responses are anonymous. Your answers will only be shared as a composite of all replies, and will be used by our focus group to help determine our community education goals for the next months.
Your help is really needed and appreciated. Thank you in advance for your input.
Sincerely,
Lynn Shield

If you want the developers to pay their way, go to this meeting on Monday!
Hi All
For several years ACTC has been planning a regional transportation network for Martell.
The next meeting of this group, Transportation Policy Advisory Task Force, will be held July 13 at 1:00 pm in Conference Room C, County Administration Center, 810 Court Street, Jackson.
It is critical to ensure that as this plan is finalized the developers who will benefit the most should pay the most.
Please attend and make sure the transportation network in Amador is not sacrificed for the benefit of a few.
See you there

Due to lack of interest, the July 11th movie has been cancelled. The Wizard of Oz will show at Pioneer Park, and that will conclude this season of outdoor cinema. Look for one time showings around the county in the late summer and fall.
All movie suggestions can be made to Matt at ACRA 223-6349.
Thank you all for your continued support of ACRA's programs projects and people.

Burn Permits Suspended as of July 1, 2009
Camino - As of 8:00 a.m. Wednesday, July 1, 2009, the Alpine-Amador-El Dorado-Sacramento Unit of the California Department of Forestry and Fire Protection (CAL FIRE) suspended all burning permits within State Responsibility Areas (SRA) of Amador and the west slope of El Dorado counties. The Unit Chief, Bill Holmes based his decision to suspend dooryard burning, on past fire history combined with dry vegetation, predicted fire weather, and other factors. CAL FIRE appreciates the efforts residents have taken to create defensible space and reminds everyone to, “Do your part and take Responsibility.”
This suspension does not apply to the portion of El Dorado County that lies within the Lake Tahoe Basin, for burn information in this area call (530) 543-2600.
Anyone with questions about this suspension may contact their nearest CAL FIRE or US Forest Service facility.

BE A VOLUNTEER AT THE KENNEDY MINE! Being a volunteer at the Kennedy is lots of fun! Even if you want to volunteer just one day a month that is so helpful. We need tour guides, people to work in the gift shop, and people who prefer to work on the property rather than dealing with the public.
The Kennedy Mine is such an important part of Amador's history and California's history. We were recently added to the National Register of Historic Places. We are currently building an Archives Building that will house mine documents, including employee records of ancestors of some of Amador's current residents. It will be open to the public.
The Kennedy Mine is accepted by Amador High School as one of the places High School Seniors can get their necessary community service hours.
If interested, please call Kathy Allen at 296-7176.
