Overview

The Amador County Senior Center was opened in 1985. It was built by a group of senior citizens who had a vision of a center that would be a valuable resource to the County of Amador. The Center would serve as a meeting place for seniors, a site for the Senior Nutrition Program and would be available to the community at large when not being used for senior activities. Amador County Senior Citizens Inc. raised the funds for the construction of the center through a wide variety of activities. The County of Amador matched the funds raised. The title is held by ACSC, a private non-profit organization which is responsible for the operation and maintenance of the building and grounds.
