There will be a special technical workshop concerning the Amador County UPlan land use model at the County Administration Center in Jackson on Feb. 4.

The purpose of the meeting, scheduled for 6 to 9 p.m., is to learn about how the UPlan model works and how it is currently proposed to be applied to the county's and cities' general plan update projects.

This is not a meeting about content of the county's or cities' developing general plans or the process by which the plans are being developed.

UPlan is a computer-based planning tool that shows how development will likely occur in response to a general plan; it does not design or create a general plan.

During the meeting, questions and comments about this tool will be answered and/or recorded for future consideration. Public participation is encouraged.
