After a long illness, my mother recently passed away.
At first, we cared for her alone at home, but as her illness progressed and level of care needed increased, we asked for and received much needed help from Hospice of Amador. Toward the end, when her needs exceeded our capabilities, we placed her in the care of the Kit Carson Convalescent Hospital.
I am not writing to tell my story, but to thank everyone who helped us through this difficult time.
Hospice of Amador: They not only provided medical care for my mother, they helped every family member with the emotional phase of accepting a loved one's pending death. The care their staff gave was unparalleled and I don't think we would have made it without them. They will have my never ending gratitude.
Kit Carson Convalescent Hospital: We've all heard stories about the questionable level of care at convalescent hospitals, well, none of those stories apply to Kit Carson. I have never met a more qualified and caring staff of nurses and aids, and they too will have my never ending gratitude.
I also want to take this opportunity to thank a couple others who helped us during this time. Daneri Mortuary for all their compassion and assistance in making a very emotional time less difficult, and
Pastor George for a very personal and spiritual service, one all will remember. Bart and Maura, (Mel & Faye's Diner) for the excellent service, food and gracious reception hospitality.
