As part of the county's general plan update process, three land use alternatives have been developed for review and discussion.

The next General Plan Advisory Committee meeting on April 3 will focus on reviewing the various components contained in these alternatives.

To consolidate the public's thoughts on the concepts proposed in these alternatives a survey was created and has been placed on the county's Web site at www.co.amador.ca.us/depts./planning and is available at the planning department. Members of the public are encouraged to complete the survey and submit their answers to the planning department.

To better understand the survey, read the two documents prepared for the land use topic. The existing land uses and zoning districts within the county are summarized in the Land Use General Plan update working paper. The Land Use Classification System and Alternatives workbook describes the process used to develop the alternatives, including the proposed land use classification system for the general plan update. These documents are available at the planning department and on the Web site as well.
