Sutter Creek Promotions Committee members discussed upcoming events with one another during the Feb. 8 meeting and updated each group on the progress for future happenings within the city.

The Amador Community Foundation has raised $2,000 toward the completion of a building at the Kennedy Amphitheater to house a ticket booth, offices and costumes.

The Sutter Creek Business and Professional Association has nine major events planned this year including a ladies night, the annual duck race, a golf tournament, Festival of Arts, Black Bart Days and the annual Chili Cook Off. A new event to be held June 7 is an antique and collectable show at the Sutter Gold Mine that plans to draw more than 100 vendors.

The long-time Knight Foundry restoration project is now considered significant as ownership will be passed to the city. It was also reported that a group of 200 people was interested in visiting the foundry in March 2009.

A recycling receptacle will be placed at the Boitano parking lot with a request to the Griffin Co. to pay half.
