Congressional candidate to speak to local Democrats Saturday, June 20, 2009 Dr. Ami Bera, one of three candidates for 3rd Congressional District will be the guest speaker at the June 25 meeting of the Amador County Democratic Central Committee. Bera is a teaching physician at the University of California, Davis School of Medicine where he formerly served as associate dean for admissions. Committee members are looking forward to hearing Bera talk about his campaign and his plan for winning the June 2010 primary. There will be a time for questions following Bera's presentation. The meeting will be held at 7 p.m. at the Amador Senior Center, 229 New York Ranch Road, Jackson. Also running in CD-03 is Gary Davis, an Elk Grove City Council member, and Bill Slaton, a member of the Sacramento Municipal Utility District Board of Directors. Regular meetings of the Amador County Democratic Central Committee are held on the fourth Thursday of each month at the Amador Senior Center and are open to the public.
