Judge Harlan Shrinks Sutter Gold's Cost Claim
In the last Focus, we noted that Lincoln Mine proponent Sutter Gold had claimed more than $13,000 in legal costs (not legal fees) related to the Concerned Citizens' lawsuit. Judge Harlan agreed with the Concerned Citizens that these costs were unreasonable and disallowed 90 percent of them, reducing the allowable costs to $1,307. The Concerned Citizens had to pay $2,690 in legal fees to contest the inflated claim.
