Deal with issues now

Would someone please tell me why, no matter how many people or how much we object, we still get things we don't want? For example, Home Depot, Jackson Hills, and water out of the canal and five creeks (not objecting to the pipeline, just taking all the water). We go to meetings, write letters, put up signs, pass out fliers - to no avail. The board of supervisors, the planning department, the city of Jackson, the city of Sutter Creek and on and on and on do it anyway.

We can't handle the huge subdivisions that are coming, and the small subdivisions don't contribute to the county's well being. Water, traffic, schools, sewer, noise, fire and police services are all suffering, and it will only continue to get worse.

Do our leaders believe the tax base will really pay for what we need? The saying goes that money talks, and we all know what walks. But it is not too late to slow this down, and turn the trend to what is really best for Amador County. Deal with some of the issues before they are compounded with huge population growth.

Think about it.
