County's big fish took the bait

I just read the Amador County Grand Jury report about the location of the current courthouse on Argonaut Lane. It's no surprise that the location is too close to the high school. Everyone knew that. Did the supervisors care? Hell, no! All they wanted was a lovely new building and new chambers to meet in. So what if the new building built on the old hospital grounds was near the county jail? Let the sheriff's office transport the defendants across town and up the hill. Let them be inconvenienced, let the community be more at risk - they wanted the new building for themselves. Are you glad you voted for these supervisors?

And if you're looking at my address and thinking, What does she know about Amador County? I lived there for 35 years (1970-2005) and watched the small town politics and those who thought they were "big fish" in a little pond spend our tax dollars to make their own lives easier. Forget the greater good.
