Give Jackson Creek its water back

I am tired of the Amador Water Agency board and county taking ratepayer and taxpayer money and spending it on attorneys and consultants. If they did their jobs right the first time, there would be no grounds for lawsuits from the public. Instead, they blame the public for their shortcomings. They need to take responsibility for their actions and quit blaming everyone else. It is sick to see millions of dollars wasted on stupidity. This is what happens when they have an open checkbook. Let's make a change.

I am not with any party or group. I went to an AWA board meeting to see what the new lawsuit was about. What I heard from AWA Director Terry Moore was outrage. Ken Berry addressed the board about his lawsuit and his concern about Jackson Creek drying up a couple months out of the year. AWA general manager Jim Abercrombie said during the last suit that dewatering the Amador Canal would not cause Jackson Creek to dry up and he still stands by that statement. Well folks, Jackson Creek is dry.

Mr. Berry said he is representing himself in the suit. He also said he would drop the suit if the board would address the Jackson Creek problem. Then the AWA attorney asked Mr. Berry for his attorney's name and number right after Mr. Berry just said he is representing himself. Then Mr. Moore brings in Bill Condrashoff, basically telling him he's stupid because he's not a licensed engineer. He never said he was a licensed engineer, he said he had a degree in chemical engineering with a background in water. What I take from this is Mr. Condrashoff has knowledge of water issues, which I do not.

Then they bring up David. Evitt's name and said you can't believe anything he says. Where did that come from? Mr. Bell had not said a thing until then. That tells me the board and Mr. Abercrombie do not believe anything the public has to say.

Jackson Creek has water and fish in it longer than anyone has been alive today. Give the water back. It's not yours to take. It's part of the town of Jackson and feeds Lake Amador.

It's time for a change and that's why I'm supporting Bill Condrashoff. I have watched this man for some time. He believes in documentation and looks, listens and studies all angles of an issue. He's not afraid to adjust his opinion on an issue if need be. The other AWA candidate I support is Debbie Dunn. She is great at organizing the public. She has to be one of the most involved women in the county. She listens to public input with respect. I think she would be the peacekeeper on the board.

I believe these two will spend our money wisely. They will fight for us ratepayers and taxpayers. They will help preserve this beautiful county we love to call home, and save it for future generations. The major problem is that people who do not live in this county are making decisions on what is best for us that do live here. Go vote!
