- Lori Eliskovich, Sutter Creek
Having lived in Sutter Creek all of my life, like my father before me, there is nothing the Gold Rush developers can offer that would be enough to warrant doubling our small town. A few years back, when this was first discussed, it was to be a golf course with vacation units. Even though I do not golf, I was not opposed to this, as it seemed a sensible way to dispose of our city's waste water. What I am opposed to is the 1,300-plus new homes now included. Either we were deceived or greed has stepped in. I would like to thank, among others, Bart Weatherly for his time and dedication, and for voicing what many people in this small town feel, but won't always say.
