Harper and Claveran played together on the NCAA National Champion team at North Park University in 1980. Harper went on to start for Portland in the early 80s. Focus of the clinic will be work ethic and sportsmanship, as well as basketball fundamentals for both low post and guard positions. The morning session will include drills and fundamentals, followed by team play in the afternoon. There will be a lunch break for pizza and drinks. Cost will be $20 per player, lunch included. Space is limited. The deadline to sign up is 3 p.m., June 16. Registration at the gym on the day of the clinic begins at 9 a.m. For more information or to sign up, call Troy Claveran at 267-1441. Summer Youth Tennis Camps July 11-12 and Aug. 1-2 Amador Tennis Club is teaming up with the City of Jackson and Brad Harris, men's tennis coach at Sierra College, to offer a pair of two-day youth tennis camps in Jackson this summer. Open to kids ages 5-14, the sessions will focus on tennis fundamentals, stroke production and fun. Snacks and water will be provided each day. Session One will be July 11-12 and Session Two will be August 1-2 from 9 a.m. until noon all days. Cost is $75 per two-day session. Junior Tennis Tournament July 17-19 Junior Team Tennis and the Amador Tennis Club will present an opportunity for young players to test their competitive tennis skills in a summer tournament.
