By bringing in new tourists and residents, there will be a large economic benefit to Sutter Creek that will create new business and employment for local merchants. The project brings in things we need, such as a new public golf course, a new golf course, a new school site, a library and sewer system improvements. We have heard a lot about this development, but most people don't realize that half of the property will be set aside as open space, either in the form of a wildlife area, parks or public green space on the golf course, I think is a brilliant approach. This project has been in the works for a good long while. Let us not stand in the way of progress and good things for our community. COMMENTS ON THIS ARTICLE The Gold Rush is over. I respectfully disagree. The golf course is one of the worst parts of the Gold Rush project. California has a huge water shortage and we do not to waste this precious resource on a project that will benefit only a handful of people. Tourists come to our area because it is different. If we become another Rancho Murieta there will be no reason to come this far any more.
