Recently retired Sutter Creek City Councilman Bill Hepworth was honored Monday with a framed-gavel-style plaque of piano-finish walnut engraved with the words "in appreciation for years of service." During 11 years on the council, Hepworth served as mayor and vice mayor, and founded the town's Promotions Committee and its Beautification Committee. "It's been an honor," Hepworth said. He said he looks forward to more civic work - on the town's Eureka Mine Park project.
