The Amador County Association of Realtors unanimously endorsed the Gold Rush Ranch and Golf Resort project, calling it a much needed shot in the arm for the slumping real estate market and economy of the Mother Lode that has already seen the loss of hundreds of jobs. This endorsement follows closely the announcement by the Amador County Chamber of Commerce that they, too, have endorsed the project.
"Amador County needs a well thought out quality project like this to help stop the slide in housing values that are at the center of our economic troubles," said Al Bozzo, President of the Amador County Association of Realtors. "In this tough economic time, we are lucky to have local project sponsors willing to step up to create good jobs, quality housing and new recreation options."
The Gold Rush Ranch project sponsors have worked closely with the community for the last eight years to redesign the project to include new space for commercial businesses anticipated to boost the economy and provide new jobs for local families. The project will offer an array of housing to meet the community's needs, including affordable homes for our local firefighters, police officers and teachers.
In addition to housing, the project will offer a number of new recreation options for everyone in the Mother Lode to enjoy, such as a championship public golf course and community tennis courts. Five miles of publicly-accessible hiking and walking trails allow new access to the projects 300 acres of new open space that protect scenic hillsides and oak woodlands.
