The new pedestrian bridge will connect the Eureka Street and Sutter Creek Auditorium/Community Center parking lots and carry the Plymouth Pipeline, now under construction, where the pipeline route crosses the creek. The one-piece bridge was manufactured off-site in Santa Fe Springs by Excel Bridge Manufacturing Co. It was parked on Old Highway 49 in Sutter Hill after being delivered to the Water Agency on Tuesday night. Crews will begin moving it to downtown Sutter Creek beginning at 6 a.m. on Thursday and will set it in place on already-constructed foundations. For safety and to avoid unnecessary street congestion, the Amador Water Agency is requesting that the public avoid the construction areas on both sides of the creek on Thursday. The Sutter Creek Police Department will be coordinating traffic control during construction. Placement of the bridge is anticipated to be wrapped up by Thursday afternoon. The bridge will be open to foot traffic later this year. Staff Report COMMENTS ON THIS ARTICLE No comments have been posted in the last 15 days!
