It has been stated that at full build-out the project will generate 16,300 vehicle trips/day. If I am generous and say that the 60 room hotel, time-shares, mixed-use commercial, and golf course will create 2910 vehicle trips per day, which means 1455 cars will come and go from these Gold Rush amenities daily. Which seems very unlikely, then if 1354 homes were built, each home would have to make five trips/day in and out of Gold Rush. Does anyone really believe this? I think it is fair to say that seniors drive less than teenagers. I actually stay home now, when I used to always be going somewhere. When the study was done did anyone take into account what the average homeowners' age would be? I wonder how many young families will purchase homes in Gold Rush? Will the golf course lots attract many seniors? Will the Gold Rush resort attract many valley commuters? I just can't imagine anyone going to Wal-Mart, then returning home, going to the library, then returning home, going to Safeway, then returning home, going to lunch, then returning home only to make one more trip that day. It won't happen, just do the math! COMMENTS ON THIS ARTICLE No comments have been posted in the last 15 days!
