Saying it would bring needed economic development to the county, the Amador Chamber of Commerce last week endorsed the Gold Rush Ranch and Golf Resort, a large residential development proposed for Sutter Creek.
After eight years of planning, the project is now under consideration by the Sutter Creek Planning Commission and City Council.
"In these tough economic times, the Amador Chamber of Commerce is proud to officially support the Gold Rush Ranch project because of the new jobs and significant contributions it will bring to our community," said chamber president Al Lennox. "The local project sponsors have been great neighbors who are committed to improving our community now and for many years to come."
The Gold Rush Ranch project originated approximately eight years ago in collaboration with the city of Sutter Creek to help address wastewater treatment and disposal challenges facing the city. The new golf course will be irrigated with treated wastewater.
