School Official Accused Of Lying To Inspectors

Robert Hubble Is Accused Of Forcing Teachers To Lie About The Number Of Textbooks Available

WALNUT GROVE (CBS13) ― A top school official in Walnut Grove is under fire from parents and teachers, who accuse him of hatching an elaborate plan to lie to state inspectors about school supplies.

Walnut Grove Elementary School teachers are claiming that district administrator Robert Hubble forced them to lie about the number of textbooks they had at the beginning of the school year. "I did not have enough books, they were taken back," said fourth-grade teacher John Allerson.

"I had students tell me, 'Well, this is bogus,'" he added.

Allerson said that Hubble brought extra books from Bates Elementary School on the day the inspectors were to arrive.

"I was dumbfounded," Allerson said.

Parent Al Eaton told the school board in a meeting Tuesday that children were told to place the extra books on their desks when the inspectors arrived, only to take them back when they left.

"I don't know if this upsets you, but it does me," Eaton told the board.
