Cosumnes River College is offering classes in Amador County as part of its special course offerings for the spring 2010 semester. The classes will begin Jan. 16, 2010 and will be held at the Amador Learning Center at Independence High School in Sutter Creek.

The classes offered in spring will include courses in the departments of Early Childhood Education, Emergency Medical Technology, English - writing, Fire Technology, Political Science and Statistics.

The courses available in these subjects are ECE 324 - Language and Literacy Development in Early Childhood, which is three units and will be held on Thursdays from 6:30 to 9:35 p.m.; EMT 100 - Basic Emergency Medical Care, which is five units and will be held Tuesdays and Thursdays from 5:45 to 9:05 p.m. for the lecture and lab, and also on Saturdays from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. for the lab; ENGWR 300 - College Composition, which is three units and will be held on Mondays from 6 to 9:05 p.m.; FT 300 - Fire Protection Organization, which is three units and will be held on Wednesdays from 6 to 9:05 p.m.; POLS 301 - Introduction to Government: United States, which is three units and will be held on Tuesdays from 6:15 to 9:20 p.m. and STAT 300 - Introduction to probability and statistics which is four units and will be held on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 4 to 6:05 p.m.

The last day to enroll in these classes without permission is Jan. 15, and classes will end May 19.
