Shop Local? Not in Jackson - at least, not for this Jackson resident. Yes, I try to do my part to boost the local economy and "shop local," but after last Friday, I doubt I'll be shopping Downtown Jackson anytime soon.
First came the bar room brawl between two women that spilled out onto the sidewalk nearly knocking my 10-year-old over and next came the brawl between a drunken vagrant and an angry teenager where I had to call 911 because the drunk was beating the teen to a pulp!
I know city officials have a big job in front of them and I know the economy is bad and I know homelessness and joblessness are huge problems right now, but I will not jeopardize the safety of my family to keep the economy going in this city.
Yes we try to spend our money where we live, but after last weekend, our Christmas dollars will be going to Sutter Creek.
