Measure M needed to meet growing challenges

 - Mark Morton, Jackson fire chief

Measure M is needed in Amador County to give the members of our growing community the best fire and emergency medical services possible.

We currently face increased call volume, up over 44 percent since 2001. We are also challenged to meet the changing requirements that are necessary to meet state and federally mandated standards. With many of our volunteers working out of the area, it puts a strain on those available to respond. It is also challenging to retain the current number of volunteers.

Measure M will assure that personnel will be responding immediately when you have an emergency. As we all know, time in an emergency is critical. I urge you to vote "yes" on Measure M.
