Police find explosives and meth lab in two Stockton homes (3:36 p.m.)

STOCKTON – Police served search warrants at two Stockton homes this morning in connection with an investigation into suspected methamphetamine production.

The first search targeted a home in the 2300 block of Pyrenees Avenue, where police said they found explosive materials. That discovery triggered a call-out of the bomb squad, which later determined the explosives were not an imminent danger. The 2300 block of Pyrenees was closed to through traffic while the bomb squad was still working to clear the scene.

Later, police searched a home in the 1200 block of Sunnyside Avenue. There, police said, they found a fully-functioning methamphetamine lab. A hazardous materials team was working to clear the home this afternoon.

Police have arrested two people so far in connection with the searches.
