No one was hurt. That was the silver lining Friday evening as Sutter Creek Police looked for suspects who had cruised by the entrance to Bryson Drive and fired six forty-five caliber rounds into a parked car and nearby business.

According to witnesses, the shooting occurred around 6:45 p.m. as the sun was going down. Sutter Creek Police Chief Rob Duke confirmed that were there two witnesses to the incident. "The suspects came down Old Highway 49 by the gateway project and started firing," Duke explained. "It looks like five rounds went into the optometrist office and one hit a parked car."

Duke added that at least two young, white males were in the front seat of the light-colored car from which the shots were fired.

When Sutter Creek Police arrived on the scene, they immediately began conducting area checks. That soon led patrolmen to identify two "persons of interest" in the case.

Back at the crime scene, Duke found some of the forty-five caliber shells and bullets that had hailed down on the business park. On Monday morning Duke drove those pieces of evidence down to the crime lab at the Department of Justice in Sacramento for ballistics testing. Duke said he would update the public on the investigations as soon the testing was done. "That will play a role in whether we upgrade our persons of interests to suspects," Duke observed. "The good news is we have some solid physical evidence in the case and leads we've identified."

Continued Gang Activity in Amador
When is the county going to start acknowledging the gang related activites that have started on the campus at Amador and are now starting on our city streets?

Just recently, gang members brought and hid a gun on campus at the beginning of a soccer game at Amador. One student was recently hospitalized after an onsite campus fight.

Gang activity has been highest ever at the Amador Football games held on their home field.

These activities need to be reported and the community needs to be aware so we can help keep this activity out of our community.

Parents need to be educated. They need to know what signs to look for in their children.

This community needs to be informed. How can parents not know what their kids are doing when they are not home. These parents need to be held accountable. Where it is gang related or discrimination. Why isn't the school communicating this to us?
