Angels Camp police officers arrested two middle aged men, both of Angels Camp, at about 9 p.m. Saturday night after they allegedly attempted to entice a 14-year-old girl into their car and then grabbed her when she couldn’t be persuaded.

The girl broke free and ran away. The incident occurred at the entrance to Utica Park off Highway 49.

Arrests were made of Rogelio Ornelas, 40, and Miguel Torres, 45, “believed to be responsible for the assault,” according to the police report. Both are in custody for numerous charges related to the case. The case is still being investigated and no further information can be released at this time, the report stated.
